Recently, ACO Marine of Germany received a contract to supply a Clarimar MF-10 wastewater treatment unit to a diving support vessel (DSV).
The vessel is called "Bibby Polaris" and the existing wastewater management arrangement on board will be converted to the Clarimar system and will meet the new MEPC 227 (64) requirements. The modification will be carried out as planned at an unpublished European shipyard.
The modified Clarimar unit will be available in IKEA-like and flat packs, which is the first supplier of wastewater treatment systems to supply this space and address the limited space on board.
Made entirely in the European Union, the Clarimar MF series is made of high-performance materials that resist corrosion and have the advantage of being lightweight. Its modular design makes it easy to install with only one power connection.
It is reported that ACO Marine has supplied more than 100 units for a wide range of offshore support vessels. Among them, the ship's latest technology offshore wind farm ship "Acta Orion" was installed in September 2015, becoming the first offshore vessel to use the device.
ACO Marine pointed out that despite the current poor market environment, the offshore and energy sectors are still an important market for the company, and the offshore ship owners are increasingly interested in the device, especially in the North Sea. A wastewater treatment program can operate in harsh sea conditions without compromising performance.
