ASEAN Market Demand Expansion Drives China's Food Machinery Export

The China Machinery Industry Federation has disclosed that from 2011 to 2015, the total output value of China's food processing and packaging machinery industry is expected to exceed 600 billion yuan, and the average annual growth rate will remain at 16%. In particular, ASEAN countries are paying more and more attention to the development of food processing technology and packaging quality, and the demand for food processing and packaging machinery in China is continuously expanding.

It is reported that most of the ASEAN countries’ industries are dominated by agriculture, with a variety of species and huge output. In order to meet the needs of ASEAN countries' markets and export markets, the food industry in ASEAN countries has gradually shifted from primary processing to sophisticated processing. Countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia have listed the development of the food industry as a priority for future economic development.

However, the development of the food processing industry in most countries in ASEAN is lagging behind and the scale is relatively small. Therefore, the import demand for food processing machinery and packaging machinery has increased year by year. Vietnam's investment in the development of the packaging network announced the Vietnam Packaging Machinery Industry Report pointed out that in recent years, Vietnam's food processing market is growing at an annual rate of 20% to 40%, but Vietnam's domestic food machinery manufacturing industry is lagging behind, production is less than the market demand of 30 %, need to import a lot.

China's food processing and packaging machinery products have the unique advantages of low transportation cost, fast delivery, reliable quality, stable performance, easy operation, reasonable price, and application of technology. Therefore, ASEAN countries very much favor "made in China." This provided an opportunity for China's export of food processing and packaging machinery to ASEAN.
