German coal machine to use coal resources to consolidate opportunities

Since the integration of coal resources, a large number of small coal mines in China with low production capacity and poor technological equipment have been shut down, and the mines have been upgraded through technological upgrading, and all of them will be large-scale mechanized mining, thus forming a huge coal market. Some foreign merchants aim at business opportunities and want to expand their market share in China.

On the 16th at the 3rd International Energy Industry Exposition held in Taiyuan, Shanxi, there were 17 coal-manufacturing-related companies from North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. Klaus Stockmann, head of the mining industry at the German Manufacturing Association (VDMA), told reporters that in 2009, China had surpassed the United States as the second largest export market for German mining machinery, reaching 233 million euros, only 274 million euros in Russia.

“We have noticed that China has implemented a policy of coal resource integration. This is an opportunity for us. We hope that the market in China will have more to do,” said Stichman. North Rhine-Westphalia, where the Ruhr area is located, is the center of heavy industry in Germany. Its coal and steel industries have supported the development of Germany for 150 years. Coal machinery has a long history and mature technology.

Stichman said that the other energy areas in Shanxi and China are similar to those in the Ruhr area from 30 to 40 years ago: the environment is heavily polluted and the economic structure needs to be adjusted. “We finally came out and we also hope that we can use our advanced concepts and advanced technology and equipment to help China with the same experience and achieve a win-win goal.”
