Maltese Resources Agency releases gas motor vehicle regulations

As an important step in the full introduction of liquefied gas into the automotive fuel market in Malta, the Maltese Government Resource Agency issued regulations on August 13 for all and some of the motor vehicles that use natural gas as a fuel. The regulations cover the series of regulations for the installation, approval, and retrofitting of existing motor vehicle fuel gas from auto gas appliances.

The Malta Gas Company had previously identified several liquefied gas pumping stations, and the company’s CEO stated that the company could provide gas services once the resources and the UNEP approved those specialized depots to start motor vehicle conversion.

In order to meet the EU’s environmental requirements for Malta’s carbon emissions by 2020, the introduction of natural gas as a fuel for motor vehicles is undoubtedly of great importance to countries with only 400,000 people but more than 200,000 motor vehicles. The problem is that it is equally important for people to abandon their original consumption habits, change their perceptions, and provide realistic economics. It is estimated that the cost of installing gas-fired devices in existing vehicles in Malta is approximately one thousand euros.
