Each fleet support tanker will be equipped with two MAN 18V 32/40 mainframes and four MAN 7L21/31 generator sets. The two fleet support tankers are scheduled to be delivered in December 2017 and June 2018, respectively.
It is understood that the fleet support tanker is a logistics / supply vessel. The logistics/supply vessel known as the refueling tanker is a naval auxiliary vessel equipped with a fuel tank and a dry cargo tank. The ship can undertake sea replenishment on the high seas.
The refueling tanker is usually one of the Navy's largest ships, which can transport large quantities of fuel and dry cargo to provide operational support for warships that are far from the port.
