Researchers use micro-mechanical devices to produce capacitance changes during exercise, testing equipment movement patterns. By constructing audio signals of different frequencies that affect the mechanism (spring) of the MEMS accelerometer, a false motion pattern is passed to the system, allowing the system to detect non-existent motion and to make the attacker's desired judgment. This attack mode, applied to the car, enables the control system to receive a non-existent absurdometer, and the auto-correction mechanism can cause a series of accidents when responding to this false move.
Timothy Trippel, a graduate student at the University of Michigan, describes in the video that they can not only disable a system with accelerometer but also control the behavior and output of the system.
