Chery Automobile announced on the 27th that its new generation of engines, which were introduced by leading European technology, was officially named ACTECO, and will be installed in November this year. Chery said the move marks Chery's formal implementation of brand management in core components and marks the birth of the first engine brand in China.

According to Chery's explanation, the meaning of ACTECO is quite rich, with three meanings.

The first layer of meaning is to indicate the technical lineage of the engine. The initial letter A stands for Austria (Austria)'s AVL company, and also represents its birthplace in Anhui (Anhui); the second letter C stands for China (China) Chery (Chery); the last two letters CO are English Abbreviation for the word cooperation. Therefore, the first layer of ACTECO means that the engine is a technological crystallization of Austrian AVL and Chery Automobile in Anhui, China.

AVL is the top engine manufacturer in Europe and the engine supplier of Germany's top car companies such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW. The person in charge of Chery said that AVL's technology and Chery's enthusiasm guarantee the high starting point of ACTECO.

ACTECO was off the assembly line on March 28 this year, marking the Chinese breakthrough in the field of a new generation of high-performance automotive engines, making the Chinese auto industry completely bid farewell to the history of being overwhelmed by the lack of a "heart" for 50 years.
