Eaton Supercharger Technology Receives Nissan Global Innovation Award

Eaton , a world-leading power management company, recently announced that its supercharger technology won the " Global Innovation Award " awarded by Nissan Motor Co. Eaton offers the TVS® turbocharger for the latest Nissan® Micra® vehicle, which provides excellent fuel economy, environmental friendliness, and improved overall performance.

The award was awarded to Eaton and six other companies at the annual Nissan Global Suppliers Conference held in Yokohama, Japan on July 10th by Shiga Jun, COO of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

Jeff Schick, vice president and general manager of Eaton’s supercharger business, said: “We are very honored to receive this award from Nissan Motor Co. Our TVS® supercharger helped Nissan’s Micra DIG-S become the cleanest in the world, One of the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered cars. Eaton’s TVS® supercharger features a patented high-speed rotor that is directly driven from the engine crankshaft. The advanced, intermeshing, high-speed rotor pumps more compressed air directly into the engine's air intake system, which then mixes the air and fuel to produce more power. The high-power and low-end torque design features of the TVS® supercharger give carmakers a great choice for smaller, more efficient engines without compromising vehicle performance and driving. The Eaton TVS® supercharger is an advanced Roots-type positive displacement turbocharger with a four-bladed rotor that twists 160 degrees. The new four-blade, high-torque rotor design, combined with the redesigned air intake and air outlet, will allow air to enter the engine smoothly and efficiently, improving noise and vibration control.
