Heavy truck enters new product competition period


In the first half of this year, many new products appeared in the domestic heavy-duty truck market: Shaanxi Automobile Deyu, Hualing Euro and Narrow Body Weight Cards, Precision Power Cards, Futian Auman ETX International Edition equipped with Cummins Engines, Liuzhou New Palon, Shaanxi Steam DeLong F3000, Liberation J6 and so on. Among them, most of them are strategic high-end heavy truck new products introduced by enterprises. These products further enriched the domestic market, and the domestic heavy truck market has thus entered the period of competition for high-end products.

Competition new products

The current situation of the heavy truck market is that the traditional Steyr platform monopoly market has been broken, and new products developed independently using European or Japanese technologies or integrated global resources have been launched.

J6 is the fist product of FAW's liberation positioning in international advanced design standards. Hualing heavy trucks more reflect the Japanese technology. It introduced the latest technology from Japan's Mitsubishi Fuso Trucking Co., Ltd., and specially imported a 5,000-ton press from Japan to carry out beam punching. The Mitsubishi engine was selected as the main assembly, and the main assembly used a mature supporting assembly at home and abroad.

In addition, high reliability, high economical efficiency, humanized design, and supporting transportation solutions have also become the object of high-end heavy truck competitions. Extrusion of imported truck market

Hualing Heavy Trucks shouted the slogan of "replacement of imports" at the beginning of its listing in October 2004. In the planning of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company, Pa Lung 507 is positioned as a professional heavy truck in the European technology platform. The market goal is to replace imports.

An owner of an unnamed truck company stated clearly in an interview: “Our new product is directed at imported trucks. During the early product development, we systematically studied the product characteristics, technology trends, and marketing of imported trucks. The service strategy has achieved a good idea."

In the past two years, the imported heavy truck market has been in an embarrassing situation. In the face of the explosive growth of China's heavy truck market, foreign truck giants have not shared much fruit. According to statistics, there are about 1,000 tractors imported each year in the country, and only about 2,000 are included in the chassis. In the first quarter of this year, the number of imported tractors was less than 300, showing a general downward trend.

In this regard, experts pointed out that the rapid progress in the quality of domestic heavy trucks is the main reason for the poor sales of imported heavy trucks. The self-owned heavy truck not only successfully attacked the expansion of imported trucks in the domestic market, but also made Dongfeng Tianlong, Liberation J6 and Valin Europe become new hopes for going overseas.

Engine will become the focus of competition

In recent years, the trend of heavy trucks in China has become clear, and high-power and high-performance engines have gradually become the focus of competition among heavy truck companies. The joint venture between Shaanxi Auto and Cummins is expected to come out this year. Beiqi Foton is also striving to seek joint ventures with foreign engine manufacturers to produce engines. After the joint venture between Chongqing Hongyan and SAIC and Iveco, engine production has also become an important project.

In addition to the intrinsic quality of power performance and quality, factors such as the degree of universalization of powertrain components, the popularity of service and maintenance networks, and the price of accessories will all play an important role in the heavy truck market competition.
