How much is the multiple-restriction heavy-duty engine far from the country?

From March 1, the fourth phase emission control requirements for light ignited engine vehicles sold and registered in Beijing were implemented. At the same time, starting from July 1, heavy-duty compression-ignition engine vehicles and heavy-duty gas-fueled ignited engine vehicles that are sold and registered in Beijing for public transportation, sanitation, and postal services will also be implemented in the national standards for the discharge of motor vehicle pollutants. Stage 4 emission control requirements and installation of an on-board emission diagnostic system (OBD).

The first implementation of the Beijing National 4 Standard has led people to conjecture. How far is the national implementation of the heavy truck engine to implement the 4 standard?

It will take at least three years for the oil to meet the standard

The news of the implementation of the National 4 Standard reminded Li Fujun of China National Heavy Truck Group Co., Ltd. of Jinan Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. of the 220 orders signed by Sinotruk and the China General Post Office in 2007. It is said that after the delivery of these vehicles to the General Post Office, the fuel tanks were further dealt with. Li Fujun thought: “This seemingly simple modification reflects a deep-seated 'oil product' problem.” The industry also generally believes that the oil product issue has become a national 3 to country 4 standard, even the country 3 Whether the standard can be implemented well as a bottleneck.

Is the oil problem an insurmountable problem? Some experts pointed out: "This is actually a question of investment and return. From a technical point of view, there is no problem in meeting oil standards."

China National Petroleum Economic and Technical Center Dan Weiguo thought: “The implementation of the “National 3 Standards” means that the refineries in the country must carry out technological transformation, and desulfurization equipment must be increased. This investment cannot be obtained by anyone. "It seems that, let alone the cost requirements of the National 4 standard. The statement from Sinopec is: "Sinopec can fully meet the requirements of the 4th national standard for oil products, but the cost of the increased cost of the enterprise will be very high." Fuel oil production has been used to add anti-sulfur additives, but international experience has shown that this technology route can not produce fuel equivalent to Euro III. For this purpose, petroleum and petrochemical systems need to add desulfurization equipment, and the investment will be about 20 billion to It takes 3 years to spend between 30 billion yuan. It means that it takes at least three years to meet the national standard 4 oil consumption nationwide.

?? Standard implementation is being questioned

According to the national mandatory standards issued in 2005, starting from January 1, 2008, all new commercial vehicle engines registered and used for sales are required to meet the national 3 emission standards. However, Li Weiguo of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Technology Center told the reporter: “Some companies are not honest and shoddy, which seriously affects the implementation of national policies.” There is still a certain distance between the implementation of the visible standards and the realization of goals.

According to the reporter’s understanding, the lack of standards has also affected the country’s 4 process to some extent. Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission once said: “The 93 gasoline standard is well implemented in Beijing, but it is not necessarily true when it comes out of Beijing. Diesel is even more troublesome, and even fuel standards are not available now.” Against this backdrop, commercial vehicle emission standards It is even more questionable when we can truly achieve the National 4 standard.

The doubt caused by the lack of core technology

The use of electronically controlled fuel injection technology is a major feature of the National 3 engine. At present, heavy-duty engines are commonly used in China. To meet the requirements of Phase 4, the engine requirements are further improved on the basis of Phase 3, such as: higher pressure electronically controlled fuel injection, variable nozzle turbocharging, and cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). Even so, using only in-house purification technology may not necessarily meet the strict requirements for particulate matter in the fourth stage. Li Weiguo told reporters: “To overcome the difficulties brought about by State 4, there are two routes to choose from, one is to use continuous regeneration particulate traps or catalytic particulate filter control technology; the other is to use selective catalytic converter technology. But at present, these two technologies still rely on imports, and it is almost impossible to complete independent research and development in 2010."

In spite of this, Li Weiguo told reporters that if national standards are implemented in advance, they can rely on imports for technical solutions. In this regard, Li Fujun expressed concern: "At present, domestic commercial vehicles produce more energy, and relying solely on imports to meet the need to what extent is still in doubt."
