MacGregor receives matching orders for two 25,600-ton bulk carriers

Recently, Cargotec's MacGregor confirmed that it has received an important order to deliver hatch covers, cranes, deck machinery and steering gears to two new 25,600 DWT dual-fuel handy bulk carriers of Finnish shipowner ESL Shipping. .

It is reported that the two ice class ships are the first new ships built in accordance with the classification society rules introduced in January 2016. The design sets new standards for the industry in terms of efficiency and environmental performance, and introduces LNG power bulk carriers for the market. With a length of 160 meters, China Qingshan Shipyard is involved in the construction. The first ship is expected to be delivered by the end of 2017. The second ship is expected to be delivered in early 2018 and will be used to transport raw materials for the steel industry and the energy industry.

Each ship will be equipped with three K3030-4 cargo cranes from MacGregor with a safe working load of 30 tons at 30 meters. Also included are folding hatch covers, electrically powered Hatlaba deck machinery and Porsgrunn steering gear.
