On the morning of the 29th, Zhengzhou Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the second factory in the Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The factory is expected to complete mass production in May 2010, and the annual production capacity will reach 120,000 units. The first model will be Production NISSAN brand, new concept, intelligent multi-functional products. The construction of the new factory marks the start of the dual-brand strategy of Dongfeng and Nissan Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) implemented by Zhengzhou Nissan.

The total investment of the new plant in the first phase was RMB 1 billion, which was contributed by Dongfeng, Dongfeng and Nissan China in terms of 51%, 28.651% and 20.349%. After the completion of the new plant in 2010, it will have the production capacity of 200,000 units per year together with the first plant. As an important part of Dongfeng Limited's new medium-term business plan “13” plan, by 2012, Zhengzhou Nissan will produce at least five new light commercial vehicle models of Nissan and Dongfeng.

According to the mid-term plan of Zhengzhou Nissan, in 2009, Zhengzhou Nissan will launch three new products, including two Nissan brand models and a Dongfeng brand model. By 2010, the production and sales volume will exceed 100,000 units, and the 2012 production and sales volume will exceed 200,000 units.
