At present, the total number of shared bicycles in the city is nearly 700,000. The number of users is close to 11 million, accounting for nearly half of the city's 23 million people, and the number of rides per day is close to 7 million. At present, the number of 700,000 has not reached the upper limit. In May this year, the city will announce the specific data of the upper limit, and draw a preliminary conclusion of the upper limit development, but in the future will be adjusted according to the needs of enterprises and users.
The director of the Beijing Urban Planning and Design Institute and professor-level senior engineer Gai Chunying said in the program that after the emergence of shared bicycles, the bicycle traffic of some sections of the city has increased by 30%. This means that the emergence of shared bicycles also stimulates the travel of ordinary bicycles, which means that the reduction of other modes of travel is conducive to alleviating road traffic congestion.
In the program, the relevant person in charge also said that Beijing will also increase its efforts in improving the pedestrian system. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Beijing will vigorously improve bicycle and pedestrian traffic conditions. The construction of the tree-line greenway, the air and underground corridors of key commercial blocks, the slow-moving hutong of Wenbao District, and the 3,200-kilometer continuous bicycle road system formed in the Fifth Ring Road.

The reporter of Beiqing Daily learned that at present, the Municipal Communications Commission is working with relevant departments to jointly formulate the "Technical Guidelines for the Establishment of Shared Bicycle Parking Areas", focusing on the selection of sites, setting methods, parking area facilities, parking area markings, pavement markings, etc. Provisions are made, in which the relevant departments will unify the color, size, and indication of the shared parking area.
