Bridgestone U.S. Truck Tire Price Increases 6%

Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) has raised the price of truck tires in the U.S. market by 6% from July 1, 2010.

The VP of marketing at BBTS stated: “We have been providing inexpensive tires to large customers and distributors. However, the prices of energy, fuel and raw materials have exceeded our scope, so we must increase prices by 6%.”

Recently, in addition to Bridgestone, other tire manufacturers have also raised tire prices in recent months. Continental tires raised tire prices in North America by 6% from June 1. Goodyear raised the price of commercial vehicle tires in North America by 8% from May 1. Michelin will start commercial vehicles in the North American market from May 1. Tire prices have been raised by 7%.
