China's LED lighting products export report for the first quarter of 2015: BRICS countries

Recently, CSAResearch released the first issue of China's LED lighting products export quarterly report (2015Q1) in 2015, and analyzed the export situation of China's LED lighting products in the first quarter of 2015. The report shows that after the rapid growth in 2014, the export value in the first quarter of 2015 reached 2.537 billion US dollars, but the growth rate decreased by 8 percentage points compared with the same period of last year, indicating that the export pressure of semiconductor lighting products in China has increased. Figure 1 2011-2015 Q1 China's annual export value of LED corresponds to the export market. In the first quarter of 2015, the United States and the European Union remained the largest export destinations, of which the United States continued to maintain rapid growth, and its market share expanded by 3 percentage points from the end of 2014. ASEAN After a sharp increase of 90%, the country became the third largest export destination and the EU remained stable. Among them, the BRICS countries also saw a significant year-on-year decline, and the market share was reduced from 14% in 2014 to 6%. The following are the market conditions of the BRICS countries in the first quarter of 2015: 1. The export value decreased by 21% year-on-year, accounting for only 5%. The BRICS countries are important emerging markets in China, showing an explosive growth trend in 2014, the first in 2015. In the quarter, the growth rate of exports has slowed down. According to the customs data, the export value of the BRICS countries was only US$121 million in the first quarter of 2015, which was about 21% lower than the first quarter of 2014. BRICS exports accounted for 7% of global exports, down 5 percentage points from 2014 (13%). Figure 2 China's export status of LED lighting products in the BRICS countries is slowing down due to the growth rate of Russian exports after the outbreak of more than 250% in four consecutive quarters from the fourth quarter of 2013 to the fourth quarter of 2014. Impact: In the fourth quarter of 2014, China’s export growth rate to the BRICS countries fell back to around 86%, and the export volume in a single quarter was about 350 million. Affected by the decline in Russian exports and the Chinese New Year holiday, the growth rate dropped sharply in the first quarter of 2015, from 86% to -21%. Figure 3 China's export value of LED lighting products in BRICS countries Compared with traditional markets, the BRIC countries have relatively small trade barriers. As the export thresholds of the United States, Japan and Europe continue to increase, competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and domestic enterprises are beginning to increase. Investing in emerging markets, the proportion of the BRIC countries in 2011-2014 continues to grow, especially in Russia and India, which is growing faster than other regions. In 2014, the overall growth rate of Russia reached 274%, and the export ranking was only in the United States, ranking second. However, in the first quarter of 2015, Russia's exports were only 34.46 million US dollars, an increase of -66% compared with the first quarter of 2014, equivalent to the 2011 export level. The market ranking also dropped from No. 2 to 17. In the remaining three countries (India, Brazil, South Africa), exports have increased to varying degrees, with year-on-year increases of 85%, 68% and 34% respectively. Table 1 China's exports of LED lighting products to BRICS countries (US$10,000) 2. The growth rate of export products is slowing down China's LED lighting products exporting BRICS countries are quantity-driven. Since the growth rate of 52.66% in the second quarter of 2013 has risen linearly to the first quarter of 2014, the growth rate of LED lamps exported by China to the BRICS countries has risen to 337.07%. Due to the ultra-high growth in 2013, the number has increased since 2014. The speed slowed down and the number increased to 53.5% in the first quarter of 2015, but overall, the number is still growing, and this trend will continue. Figure 4 China's exports of LED lighting products to the BRICS countries 3. The average export price fluctuated. In the same period, the price of LED lamps began to fluctuate downwards in the third quarter of 2013. The average price of LED lighting products exported by China to the BRICS countries is 2-6 US dollars per unit (pieces, sets, sets), and the price difference between Europe, America and Japan is not large. In addition to lampless lights, ceiling lights, explosion-proof lights and other high value-added products, the LED lighting products, which account for more than 95% of the export share, are showing a downward trend.
