Fukuda Motors, the leading domestic commercial vehicle manufacturer, will complete the assembly and production of its own-brand vehicles in Russia by the end of 2010. In 2012, it will build an auto production base with an annual output of 100,000 vehicles in Russia.
Recently, under the joint witness of Beijing Mayor Guo Jinlong and the mayor of Moscow, Luzhkov, Foton Motors signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Moscow City Government of the Russian Federation, and the formal establishment of the Foton Motor Europe Automotive Division and the Russian Foton Motor Company. The cooperation between the two parties includes the positioning of the Russian Foton Motor Company as the regional operation center of Foton Motor Europe, and the overall responsibility for the sales, R&D and investment management of Foton Motors in the European region. By the end of 2010, it will achieve assembly production in Russia and plans to invest in a production base with an annual output of 100,000 cars in the Russian Federation in 2012. This will cover the full range of Futian products such as light trucks, China Cards, heavy trucks, big passengers, pickup trucks, and SUVs. The product radiates throughout Europe. Foton Motors will use Russia as its European regional manufacturing and operations center, which will open the prelude to the globalization of Futian.
Futian Auto's general manager Wang Jinyu said that Foton Motor has formulated the “5+3+1†global promotion strategy from 2011 to 2015, namely to complete the construction of five major developing countries in Russia, Brazil, Mexico, India, and Thailand by 2015 Realize the development of the regional markets of the three developed countries of the European Union, North America and Japan; and realize a major breakthrough in the Chinese domestic market for the sedan business. Russia’s choice as a cut-off point in its global strategy is because Russia has been the largest country for Chinese auto exports in the years before the financial crisis, and its status is very important.
