Recently, the Digital Technology Research Laboratory of R&D Department of China Shipbuilding Ninth Design and Research Engineering Co., Ltd. has launched a virtual reality service platform that can provide 3D experience. Based on the 3D virtual reality engine, the platform can realize multiple functions, such as first-person interactive roaming of scenes, information management of equipment in the scene, virtual operation of production process, simulation operation of production equipment, and Real-time simulation of Internet of Things technologies.
It is understood that under the third industrial revolution and the deep integration of industrialization and informatization, 3D experience services based on virtual reality technology will play an increasingly important role in the industrial and engineering fields. Different from the traditional 3D display represented by renderings and animations, the 3D experience service has the following characteristics: First, it is a more comprehensive and intelligent expression, which can display the complete information of products and engineering solutions in a real-life interactive way. Secondly, it pays more attention to the multi-sensory application experience of the owner/customer, enabling the designer to obtain more objective and accurate evaluation opinions from the owner/customer in real time. The third is a broader value-added space, which can provide operations while the project is delivered. Additional services such as training, asset management, and real-time monitoring will enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.
In order to make the 3D experience service play a role in the engineering project of CSSC and improve the design quality of CSIC Nine Academy, the Digital Technology Research Office of R&D Department has been committed to the combination of virtual reality technology and production management. Since its launch, the service platform has been initially applied and achieved good results in the Saudi offshore engineering and shipbuilding project and the Egypt Said Port project bidding project. According to the planning of the Digital Technology Research Laboratory of the R&D Department, the platform can play different roles in various stages of the future engineering project of CSSC. In the pre-bidding and planning stage, an interactive program release for industrial/civil engineering projects will be carried out, with a new display means to enhance the expression level of the CSSC 9 program; in the mid-term engineering design phase, it can be followed by various professions - especially Department of Hydraulics/Shipbuilding Technology and Equipment - Design work, providing owners with a virtual experience of design results from shallow to deep, enabling owners to evaluate the intermediate results of the design and propose amendments at the first time to avoid A large number of post-design modifications and rework conditions during the construction process will improve the design quality of the CSIC Nine Academy; in the later stages of the completion of the project, the owner can provide a variety of additional services, such as simulation and training of processes and equipment. The electronic sand table of the fixed assets of the whole plant and the production safety supervision system combined with the sensing technology will carry the engineering and technical support of the CSIC 9th through the whole life cycle of the project.
