GTT receives an order for Mark III Flex Enclosure for a new LNG carrier

It is reported that the French LNG enclosure system manufacturer GTT has received orders from Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea to supply the Mark III Flex enclosure for a new LNG carrier.

The new ship was ordered by Norwegian shipping company Norspan LNG Xii AS (Knutsen) with a capacity of 180,000 cubic meters and is expected to be delivered in 2019.
Currently, the Knutsen fleet consists of 10 LNG carriers in operation and one is under construction. These LNG carriers are all equipped with GTT's membrane containment system.
This Mark III Flex technology is an evolution of the Mark family of products with a gas evaporation rate of only 0.085% V/day. GTT CEO Philippe Berterottière said, “This is also the second order for the company to receive Hyundai Heavy Industries and the shipowner Knutsen this year, which shows that the three parties have a good relationship.”
