Zhang Xiaojun: Audi's new layout

Reporter: Ask Zhang Zhang on two questions. The first is that Audi is the first new car to be launched in the top three luxury brands, and most of them are mass-produced new cars. I would like to ask what is the reason for Audi. Is it so much new car at this auto show? Second, does Audi have any concerns that it will be difficult to digest during the market digestion process. How does Audi arrange for the digestion of new cars?

Zhang Xiaojun: This question is very good. Audi is more rigorous in its participation in the exhibition and has a very clear product strategy. It is at what time. This time by the Shanghai Auto Show, we have five key models this time, two are the world's first, an Asian debut, and two are China's starting. The world premieres are the Q3 and A3 e-tron concepts. The Asian premiere is the Q5 hybrid quattro. The first Chinese launches are the A1 and A7 Sportback. Now that Q3 will be made in the future, we may not be able to disclose more information at the moment because we need some localization testing time. I don't think time will be too long.

The A3 e-tron concept is a solution provided by Audi for energy conservation and environmental protection in the new energy strategy for automobiles. Audi has continuously introduced five new energy models in recent years. I think this provides a comprehensive solution for the future of automobile life. Some people say that Audi's new energy vehicles are developing slowly, but everyone will see a significant acceleration in these two years, and the technology of each of the five models is not the same. Like the Q5 hybrid quattro, the all-hybrid model is the first in Asia. It is the Audi or the first mass-produced hybrid car in the luxury car brand. Everyone in the car will have a chance to try it out. I think this parameter is a very good hybrid model. With a 2.0T TFSI engine and a motor above it, the battery capacity is not very big, but it can really save energy to the maximum extent. Reporter: What is the sales performance of the new A8L since its listing? Please briefly introduce it.

Zhang Xiaojun: The new generation Audi A8L was announced in Guangzhou at the end of February. Sold for a month in March, it should be said that the sale was very good. It sold 1655 vehicles a month. Compared with the previous generation, it increased more than three times year-on-year. I think that the A8L really meets the expectations of our original market. Of course, because of the beginning of the listing, logistics, and many other aspects of the problem, I believe that as the market and users become more familiar, our process will be more and more smooth, it will come to have a better performance.

Reporter: President Zhang, what do you mean by Audi's "new layout" is that Audi wants to increase the proportion of imported cars to what level? There is the sales network that you just talked about sinking to the second and third-tier cities. What time is it and how do you plan? If you go to second- and third-tier cities, what models will you push first?

Zhang Xiaojun: In the past two to three years, our imported vehicles have developed rapidly. Last year, we sold more than 3,100 vehicles. This year, I estimate that it may be almost doubled, accounting for 14% of the total sales volume, and this year will be further increased. We hope that in the "localization of full price chain" strategy, domestically produced products will be more quickly and flexibly adapted to the needs of the market and meet customer needs. This strategy is not the same as other brands. Audi-made cars are very large. Once this product is expected to have a good market in China, we will use it for domestic production. Of course, we also see that many of our competitive brands are also learning, and we also see that this is a very good strategy. Therefore, for this reason, we have seen an increase in the proportion of imported cars in recent years.



On the issue of network construction. In the past few years, Audi has said that our network development has been relatively stable. However, we think that future development should be more in the second and third-tier cities. Therefore, we have significantly accelerated the pace of development in addition to the central cities since last year. The layout of the development of second- and third-tier cities. By the end of this year, early next year, the number of Audi dealers will reach 210, of which the majority will be added in second and third-tier cities.

Reporter: From January to March of this year, what is Audi's share in the premium car market?

Zhang Xiaojun: From January to March of this year, we sold 62,432 vehicles, an increase of nearly 25%, and the entire premium car market increased by 45%. Why does Audi like this? Reporter: This year many cities throughout the country have implemented official car reforms and reduced the official car purchase budget. What impact will this have on Audi?

Zhang Xiaojun: Audi's development was really driven by the government. This is true. But now, 80% of the Audi brand is sold to private users, and it is rarely sold to the government.
