Recently, the Fujian Provincial Local Standard “General Technical Specification for Automotive LED Display” drafted by the Metrology and Certification and Testing Institute of Xiamen Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau passed the expert group's approval. It is reported that the "Specifications" is the first local recommended standard for this product in China, which can provide technical basis for the design, production, sales and acceptance of automotive LED display.
The car LED display is an LED display mounted on a sports carrier such as a car, a train or a ship, and belongs to a new type of green energy-saving product. Nowadays, LED displays can display various specifications of text, images, animations, plus high brightness, full color, and easy to update content, and more and more appear in public transport such as cars and boats. However, most of the LED displays seen on the vehicles use ordinary LED displays directly, which brings hidden dangers to driving safety. The quality supervision personnel said that because the standard system of such products is still not perfect and lacks corresponding national or industry standards, the product development and production are in a disorderly state, and the product quality is uneven.
As one of the drafters of the standard, Shi Yuan, director of the Metrology and Calibration Laboratory of Xiamen Quality Supervision Bureau, said that the performance of the on-board LED display is greater than that of the ordinary LED display, paying more attention to safety performance, and has flame retardancy and electromagnetic interference resistance. Clear and more rigorous standards.
According to quality supervisors, unlike the standard LED display technology standards, the LED display on the mobile carrier must meet more stringent requirements in terms of flame retardancy, electromagnetic compatibility, brightness and service life. The "Specifications" clearly stated that the on-board LED display should be able to protect against the dangers associated with electric shock, energy, fire, heat, machinery, etc. In particular, it must have a certain degree of flame retardancy to avoid spontaneous combustion due to short circuit. At the same time, the standard also requires that the display should not be too bright or too dark, making people uncomfortable; the trouble-free working time should be no less than 5000 hours, equivalent to more than one year.
