On the morning of December 4, the National Engineering Research Center for Viral Biotechnology and Henan University signed a cooperation agreement with Zhongzhou Hotel in Zhengzhou, announcing the establishment of the "Viral Biotechnology National Engineering Research Center Henan Province Center" in Heda, both sides will be specialized in biopharmaceuticals. The development and development of biomedical technology and other fields have been intensified in order to increase the level of Henan biopharmaceutical technology research and accelerate the industrialization of bioengineering technology in Henan.

The center is headed by the renowned scientist of our country, the founder of molecular virology, the former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the chief scientist of the Sanren National 863 Plan, and the current director of the National Engineering Research Center for Viral Biotechnology Hou Yunde (vice deputy minister).

According to the agreement, the National Engineering Research Center for Viral Biotechnology will assign an expert to be the deputy director of the Henan Provincial Center and be responsible for the technical guidance of the Henan Province Center. He will also hold special reports on biotechnology or other activities in the center of Henan Province to promote Industrialization of Biotechnology Achievements in Henan Province. Henan University may rely on the "Henan Provincial Center" to conduct project applications and apply for government support funds.

According to reports, the National Engineering Research Center for Viral Biotechnology is the first national-level engineering and technology research center in China's biotechnology industry. It is mainly engaged in high-tech biotechnology research and results transformation. The clinical grade leukocyte interferon developed by academician Hou Yunde was awarded the Class A Achievement Award by the Ministry of Health. The developed interferon α1b is the first batch of genetic engineering drugs approved by the state to be launched on the market and won the first prize for national scientific and technological progress. It is reported that this is the first time that the National Engineering Research Center for Viral Biotechnology has established a branch in Henan Province. It is also the third branch center established after Shanghai University and Central South University.
