China will phase out ordinary lighting incandescent lamps in five stages: November 1, 2011 to September 2012. On the 30th, the transition period, the import and sale of ordinary lighting incandescent lamps of 100 watts and above will be banned from October 1, 2012. The import and sale of ordinary lighting incandescent lamps of 60 watts and above will be banned from October 1, 2014, October 2015. From the 1st to the 30th of September 2016, the mid-term evaluation period, the import and sale of ordinary lighting incandescent lamps of 15 watts and above will be banned from October 1, 2016, or adjusted according to the mid-term evaluation results.
While incandescent lamps are banned, energy-saving lamps will become the mainstream of the market as an alternative lighting product. According to the "Semiconductor Lighting Energy Conservation Industry Plan", by 2015, the market share of traditional high-efficiency lighting products such as energy-saving lamps will be stable at around 70.
