Qian Huikang mentioned that in the future, General Motors will move forward at full speed. The investments will also be used to support GM in building five new plants by the end of 2015, including four automotive assembly plants and a powertrain plant. Through the continuous expansion from 2014 to 2020, the total capacity of General Motors in China will increase by 65%.
General Motors will also continue to deepen its strategy for the development of the Midwest market. At present, GM’s sales in the central and western regions account for about 45% of total sales in China. In the future, GM will continue to increase its dealer network and manufacturing base in these regions, including new factories in Wuhan and Chongqing that will be completed by the end of 2015.
At the same time, Porsche, the world’s sports car manufacturer, also stated that in the future, the Chinese market is expected to replace the US market as its most important market, and Porsche’s dealer network in China will also expand further.
According to Mullen, chairman of the Porsche Global Executive Board, Porsche delivered more than 37,000 Porsche sports cars to Chinese owners last year, which represents an increase of 20% over the previous year. At present, China is already the second largest market in the world.
This time, Porsche brought its entire series of top-level sports cars to the 13th Beijing International Automobile Exhibition and wanted to reveal the latest trends in the future development of sports cars through cutting-edge technology.
