Prunella vulgaris is a herbaceous plant with medicinal properties and belongs to Chinese medicinal materials. Therefore, research on the inspection procedures and quality standards of Chinese herbal medicine seeds and the establishment of quality standards for Chinese herbal medicine seeds are important issues that need to be resolved in the standardized production of Chinese herbal medicines, and are the basis for the stability of the quality of Chinese herbal medicines. Through the determination of the main quality test indexes such as seed purity, 1000-grain weight, water content and viability of Prunella vulgaris in different populations, the quality grading standard of Prunella vulgaris seeds was preliminarily established. The seed clarity workstation is an important device for the study of seeds.

For the study of the purity of Prunella vulgaris seeds, the quartile method was used. The relative electrical conductivity reflects the vitality of the seed to a certain extent, and can be used as the basis for determining the seed vigor. In general, the higher the seed vigor, the stronger the membrane function, the less the permeate, and the lower the relative conductivity; the lower the seed vigor, the more the cell membrane is damaged, the more easily the content penetrates when boiled, and the higher the relative conductivity is. Because Prunella vulgaris seeds have special mucous membrane substances, it may affect the measurement results of electrical conductivity to a certain extent. Therefore, the relative conductivity was used as a reference for seed vigor in this experiment, but not as the main grading index.
